The EDEN Lab conducts cutting-edge and multi-method research on social and emotional development, psychopathology, temperament, and personality. In particular, we study person-level factors (e.g., heritable factors, physiology, brain function and structure) and environmental-level factors (e.g., parenting, the contexts in which children grow up) to understand what gives rise to individual differences in temperament, personality, and the development of psychopathology. The overarching goal of this research is to inform universal and targeted preventative intervention and treatment efforts to reduce risk of psychopathology and promote child and family well-being.
