EDEN Lab’s PI, Dr. Rebecca Waller presented at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s (CHOP) Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Grand Rounds on a talk titled, “A Multimodal Model of Callous–Unemotional Traits: Construct, Mechanism, & Treatment.” In this presentation, Dr. Waller highlighted socioemotional mechanisms underlying CU traits and evaluated current treatment approaches and their limitations. Thinking about the future of the field, Dr. Waller explained how emerging technologies, including automated eye-tracking, affect and language quantification, and machine-learning–based biotyping, can transform early identification and lead to more precise, mechanism-targeted interventions.
